Darlin (old Phoenix/Daft Punk)

It’s been awhile since I blogged about my favorite French boys Phoenix. I ran across some weird old stuff while looking for a way to buy the limited edition of their last album. I’ve wanted it for awhile but it’s expensive and honestly I don’t even know if it’s available. The only place to “officially” buy it is from a UK version of the store that doesn’t accept any American credit cards. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get my hands on this please let me know.

Hand screen printed pizza box? White vinyl? Ugh I need this.

While looking for other rare Phoenix vinyl I ran across some information on Christian’s (one of Phoenix’s guitarists) first band Darlin’. He was in the band with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo who later went on to form Daft Punk, which you’ve probably heard of. They released two songs on a compilation 7 inch from the band Stereolab‘s label in 1993. The copies I’ve seen of this on the internet are going for $100 or more. But if you click the picture right here it will take you to a place where you can just download the mp3 versions for free. Roll your mouse over the songs titles and right click and save! Honestly this stuff sounds a lot like the lo-fi stuff Brittany and I have been going crazy about in recent months.

Ok done with my nerdiness for now.
